TAKE NOTE! - MARCH 2008

NEW MEMBERS:

As we have had many new members in recent months I thought it a good opportunity to repeat information.
Welcome to all the new members.
I hope you will enjoy the rehearsals, concerts and social opportunities.

SALES TABLE:

As we try to keep subscriptions for the year as low as possible, the monthly sales table does help with finances so please do support it.
Thank you to Pam Toft for keeping it going. I’m sure she would welcome, not only help on the day, but also items to sell.

Re: subscriptions - the fee is £12 for the year, payable in September 2008.

REFRESHMENTS:

You may have noticed that our tea ladies belong to the Church and are not members of the Orchestra. We are extremely grateful for them serving us refreshments each month. We would be lost without their help!

There is a dish on the table when you collect your tea. We each put in 20 pence to help pay for the tea and biscuits.

FUTURE REHEARSALS :

There are now some extra dates that were not included in the last Take Note! Please make sure you put these dates in your diary. All on Saturdays at 3 p.m. in Hamilton, Claughton Village.

10th May 2008 (rehearsal and concert)

14th June 2008

12th July 2008

No rehearsal August

13th Sept. 2008

11th Oct. 2008

NEXT CONCERT:

Have you written the date of our next Concert as Saturday 10th MAY 2008 and NOT 17th May as previously stated? Problem was I couldn't count the second Saturday in the month correctly!

Also St. Luke's couldn't accommodate us on the 17th. The Concert will be in St. Luke's Methodist Church, Hoylake. The rehearsal will be at 3 p.m. and the Concert at 7 p.m.

ELLESMERE PORT RECORDER GROUP:

You may be interested in joining the Ellesmere Port Recorder Group. This meets on Tuesdays from 7-30 p.m. to 9-30 p.m. See Roger Springer for details.

ALSTON HALL:

Also there are several day courses at Alston Hall near Preston -
Sun. 6th April, Sun. 29th June, Sun. 7th Sept.
and a Recorder Orchestra weekend commencing Fri. 3rd Oct.

These are all led by Grace. See her for details.

SWEAT SHIRTS:

We use these on Concert days – particularly if it is a cold venue.

IDEAS?:

Any money-making ideas for either the Orchestra or for the Contra Bass would be welcomed.

ANNIVERSARY:

from September 2008 onwards we will celebrate our tenth year of existence. Any ideas as to how we can celebrate it?
